Email Log

The Email Log tab on the Email page shows the email sent from and received by the domain selected at the top of the page, and whether each message was delivered.

Email log with delivered, deferred and failed messages

Searching the log

The last 7 days load when you open the tab. Pick another range with the buttons or the From and To fields, and click Search. Times are in your browser's time zone.

The time range is the only required filter. Leave Address, State and Direction at their defaults to see every message in the range.

If a search matches more messages than the log can show at once, Flux says so above the results. Narrow the time range or add a filter to see the rest.

What the states mean

StateMeaning
DELIVEREDThe receiving server accepted the message.
DEFERREDThe message has not been delivered yet. Delivery will be tried again.
FAILEDThe receiving server refused the message, or it could not be reached. The message will not be delivered.

A message to several recipients has a state per recipient, shown next to each address in To. One recipient can be delivered while another is still deferred.

Remote server is the other end of the delivery: for outgoing mail the server that received the message, for incoming mail the server that sent it to us.

Message details

Click a message to see all the details the server logged for it, including the TLS connection and how the sender logged in.

TIP

If the log shows outgoing mail you did not send, look at Authenticated user in the message details. That is the email account whose password was used to send it. Change that account's password on the Email Accounts tab.
